ProPhotonix Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of LED illumination Systems, laser diode modules as well as a distributor of laser diodes has expanded its international sales operations for its line of Machine Vision illumination solutions with the appointment of three new distribution partners in Asia, Europe and the United States.
These agreements, according to the company, build on its position within the machine vision markets in North America and Europe, as well as an increasing footprint in the Far East.
Machine Vision systems enable the inspection of products throughout the manufacturing process and allow manufacturers to ensure that their products conform to the exact specifications to which they were initially designed.
NexLase, based in Munich, has been named as a distributor of ProPhotonix's Machine Vision illumination products in Germany. NexLase was founded in 2005 and specializes in the distribution of laser and other application specific accessories including optics and laser safety devices. Nevis, located in Taiwan, is a full-service engineering and technology provider known for supplying its customers with customized turnkey solutions. Nevis will be integrating ProPhotonix's
laser and LED illumination products into its end-user applications. Saber1, founded in 2001 and located in Chelmsford, Mass., provides a single destination for customers looking to source vision components including software, cameras, frame grabbers and other components from major manufacturers worldwide.
Mark W. Blodgett, chairman and CEO of Salem, N.H.-based ProPhotonix said the move would help his company "gain market share and accelerate growth in these regions."
ProPhotonix serves the machine vision, industrial inspection, defense, sensors and medical markets. The company has offices and subsidiaries in the United States, Ireland and Europe.
