Lumen Dynamics has introduced a UV LED (ultra-violet light emitting diode) curing system for display manufacturers. The OmniCure LC280 features high-powered UV output and low temperature curing for optical bonding applications.

“The rapid increase in demand for flat panel displays coupled with the strong pricing pressures in this market has created a paradox for display manufacturers. To assist our partners in display manufacturing, we have broadened the OmniCure product portfolio of UV curing solutions,” said Allan Firhoj, president and CEO of Lumen Dynamics.

Due to its low temperature curing process, the OmniCure LC280 ameliorates problems typically caused for manufacturers by excessive heat from the arc lamp curing systems. This, the Canadian company claims, should increase yield and production speed. The LC280 has the ability to cure multiple units at once, and can be used in wider display applications. The modular version of the curing system also can be integrated with new or existing production lines.

Lumen Dynamics is based in Mississauga, Ontario. Founded in 1984, the company provides specialty light delivery solutions within several markets, including life sciences and medical devices.
